I Ignored LifeWave Reps for a Year. Then I Got Desperate. Here's What Happened.
I spent 24 years building a successful hair salon in Boston. Two-time "Best of Boston" award winner. Expert colorist. The kind of hairstylist who charged $250 for consultations because I was THAT good at what I did.
Network marketing? MLMs? Absolutely not. That wasn't for me.
So when two different people tried to tell me about LifeWave over the course of a year, I completely ignored them. I could feel them trying to rope me into something, and I didn't like it.
I had zero interest in becoming one of those pushy MLM reps I'd been avoiding for years.
And yet... here I am. Over a year later. Running a thriving LifeWave business from my couch in my sweatpants.
This is the story of how I accidentally built a network marketing business while broke, desperate, and dealing with a disability - by doing the complete opposite of what I thought "network marketing" was supposed to be.
The iPhone Sleeve That Changed Everything
One of my best friends is a surgeon. She's brilliant, analytical, and has helped me navigate health challenges for years. When she recommends something, I just buy it. No questions asked.
So when she called and said, "I need to tell you about this amazing new thing I'm using," I was ready to listen.
Except... I had no idea what she was talking about.
"It's something about buying a sleeve," she said.
I'm picturing one of those iPhone armbands you wear when you're running. I'm thinking, "Why is my surgeon friend so excited about workout accessories?"
I was completely confused.
She could tell I wasn't getting it. "I sent you a video. You HAVE to watch it. These are the most amazing things."
I finally watched the video.
And I immediately understood why she was so excited.
These weren't iPhone sleeves. They were phototherapy patches - small, wearable patches that use light technology to support your body's natural wellness processes.
I couldn't even wait to order them.
The First Two Weeks: Subtle But Real
I'm very sensitive to how my body feels. I was a serious athlete growing up, so I'm incredibly in tune with even subtle shifts in my energy, stamina, and physical state.
Within the first week or two of wearing X39, I noticed very, very subtle increases in stamina.
I was able to travel home to see my family - something I'd been too exhausted to do for months.
I started sleeping just a little bit better. Not dramatically - just... better.
And I noticed I had better word recall. I'd been forgetting words constantly - in the middle of sentences, I'd just blank on common words I'd used my entire life. That started improving.
These weren't life-changing transformations. They were quiet, subtle shifts.
But after dealing with chronic health problems for 20 years, even subtle improvements felt significant.
"I'll Just Sign Up for the Discount"
After using the patches for a little while, I realized I wanted to keep ordering them long-term. And I wanted the best pricing without being locked into a subscription I couldn't control.
So I decided to become a LifeWave Brand Partner.
Not because I wanted to build a business. Not because I had some grand vision of becoming a network marketer.
I just wanted the discount. And freedom to order when I wanted, at the best price.
I also thought, "Well, I have a YouTube channel. Maybe I'll sign up 3 or 4 people. Who knows?"
That was the extent of my business ambition.
I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. And I definitely didn't think of this as "starting a network marketing business."
Two Months In: Everything Changed
I kept using the patches consistently. And things started shifting more noticeably.
My sleep really changed around month 2. Deeper rest. Waking up feeling more like myself.
My skin started looking so much better - which, as a beauty professional for 24 years, I absolutely noticed.
I started being able to do things I hadn't been able to do in years.
And then I got the email.
A medical bill notification. Another one. And I realized - with a sinking feeling in my stomach - that there was no more money to pay these bills.
I was broke. Not "tight budget" broke. Actually broke. In trouble.
I'd been dealing with a disability that made traditional work impossible. Medical bills were piling up. And I had no idea how I was going to dig myself out of this.
The Moment I Decided to Take This Seriously
I sat there staring at that email, and I had a choice to make.
I could panic. Or I could figure this out.
I thought: "I still have a brain. I might not be totally physically capable right now, but I have a brain. I'm passionate about these patches. I believe in them. I KNOW I can do this."
So I made a commitment.
I was going to treat this like a real job - one I could do from home, in my sweatpants, on my own schedule when my body allowed it.
I was going to work really hard at it. And I was going to focus on one thing above everything else:
Helping people.
Every single morning, even when I felt like I didn't have the confidence to show up, I told myself: "I'm just going to focus on helping people as much as I can, as best as I can. And if I do everything from a place of service, everything will fall into place."
What "Working Hard" Actually Looked Like
I committed to showing up on YouTube live once every Monday.
That's it. One live stream per week.
I wasn't selling. I wasn't pitching. I was:
Answering questions
Sharing what I knew
Offering tips based on my own experience
Being completely honest about what worked and what didn't
At the end of each live, I'd basically say: "If you want a Brand Partner who will be helpful, who will answer your questions, who genuinely cares - I would love to be that person for you. And it would mean a lot to me."
That's the only "pitch" I ever made.
The Phone Calls That Changed Everything
When people reached out wanting help, I offered to get on the phone with them.
I didn't push. I didn't pressure. I educated.
I asked questions. I listened. I helped them figure out what actually made sense for their specific situation.
And people loved it.
"Wow, I'm really glad I called you. You actually care about what happens to me."
I got off a phone call just yesterday where a woman said, "I feel so happy to have you taking care of me and helping me because I can feel how much you care."
That's not a sales tactic. That's just... who I am.
I'm a hairstylist. I spent 24 years in a career where I listened to people, understood what they needed, and helped them feel confident and cared for.
I just applied the same approach to LifeWave.
What Happened Next
My business grew.
Not because I was pushy. Not because I spammed people. Not because I used aggressive sales tactics.
But because people could feel that I genuinely cared about helping them - not just making a sale.
Within months, I was making enough to start addressing those medical bills. I was building financial stability while working from home on a schedule that worked with my disability.
I was helping people improve their wellness. And they were thanking ME for it.
This didn't feel like "network marketing" the way I'd always feared it would be. It felt like an extension of the same service-based work I'd been doing my entire career.
What I Learned About Network Marketing
Here's what I figured out along the way:
Network marketing gets a bad reputation because most people do it wrong.
They spam. They pressure. They make it about themselves and their income goals instead of genuinely helping people.
But when you approach it the way I do - with authentic care, real education, and zero pressure - it's completely different.
You don't need to be an extrovert or a natural salesperson.
You just need to genuinely believe in what you're sharing and care about the people you're helping.
It's not "easy money" - but it IS possible.
I work hard. I show up consistently. I answer questions at 10pm when someone emails me. I get on phone calls even when I'm exhausted.
But I get to do it from home. On my schedule. While managing a disability that would make traditional employment impossible.
The people who succeed are the ones who focus on service, not sales.
Every single decision I make, I ask myself: "Is this helpful? Does this serve this person? Or am I just trying to make a sale?"
When you lead with service, the sales follow naturally.
If You're Considering Network Marketing
I'm not going to tell you it's easy. I'm not going to promise you'll get rich quick.
But I will tell you this:
If you find a product you genuinely believe in, and you're willing to focus on truly helping people instead of just making sales, network marketing can be an incredible opportunity.
Especially if you need:
Flexibility to work around health issues or caregiving responsibilities
The ability to work from home
Income potential that grows over time as you build a team
A business model that doesn't require huge upfront investment
For me, LifeWave has been life-changing - not just because the patches improved my health, but because the business gave me financial stability and purpose during one of the hardest seasons of my life.

I belong to other network marketing companies and I use and love the products, but I just feel differently about them. My Lifewave X39 patches have changed my life, my health and even my finances. I can’t make people decide to try them, but I do tell everyone (that I believe could benefit) about them, and I genuinely hope that they will choose to try them. It is possible to have more energy, less discomfort, and more joy in life, but you have to do something about it if you want to actually see a change.
The best thing I ever did was to start working with Lifewave both by using, and sharing this incredible technology. If you would like to try these amazing phototherapy devices, please click my link here to order : https://lifewave.com/2167534/store/product/39000.022.009

Lifewave X39
I almost didn't try network marketing because I was terrified it would turn me into a pushy DM spammer. Here's what actually happened instead.
